Complete unit for a wide range of print materials.
Featuring an ergonomic design and an extremely easy use, this unit has a lot of strong points. Owing to the use of 4 servomotors for each print unit, the so combined machine proves to be strongly competitive on the market: Salient characteristics are the reduced speed in the setup phase, the comfortable access to both sides of the machine for the operator and the integration of automatic pre-register controls and the system "Vision 1". The motorised and "recipe storable" inking system guarantees the stability of the print quality even during a format change. The performance is completed by an automatic control of the roll temperature, automatic colour calibration and remote adjustment of the inker. The interchangeable cassettes with automatic locking system make the web cut unnecessary when the format cassette is changed. Moreover, its replacement is very easy and fast. At last, the possibility to control the material tension makes this machine suitable to print on paper, self adhesive paper, unsupported film and light carton.
The ideal solution for labels and packaging with metallic effects.
The print option for Rotogravure technology has been available on the Varyflex line for a long time. This unit guarantees excellent results both in metallic ink print (gold and silver) and in printing high coverage opaque backgrounds. It also provides for a suitable transfer in the application of glues for lamination or cold seal. The sequence insertion of units allows obtaining products with a high quality standard as well as a significant cost restraint compared to the application of metallic foil or UV inks. The versatility and the extremely easy use make this unit particularly flexible. It can be namely used on substrates which are very different among one another, from light carton board to labels. It can be also easily included in the desired position and sequence according to the job. Finally, thanks to a particular design of the connection systems, it can be moved only by an operator. Faultless results are ensured by the possibility to include the electrostatic interlocking device into the unit to aid ink transfer even in the finest screens or on non-flat surfaces. The roto unit is also designed according to the Atex directive about the explosion risk, considering the wide use of solvent-based inks.
Flexibility and added value at the service of the graphic industry.
High technological level and easy use make the silk-screen unit an ideal investment for label print in the cosmetic and pharmaceutical sector and anywhere a high coverage or thickness of the ink film are required. The silk-screen cassettes can be included in all the different Omet's printing lines and can be interchanged with other print technologies, for instance the flexo one. The interchangeability makes the line configuration particularly easy and allows printing in the most suitable sequence, also giving the possibility to obtain easy and fast changeovers. The connection of the silk-screen unit occurs through a simple connector and the same UV lamps of flexo units are used. Transmission is independent and servo driven, register recovery is immediate and precise. The correct ink feed is constantly checked and all the adjustment operations are extremely ergonomic, concerning either the material thickness, inking or print pressure.
HOLO-FOIL KING® for in-line application of holograms on label and flexible packaging.
Conceived to be integrated among the various VARYFLEX's print units or as a relam station, the unit uses the foil saver technology to guarantee the highest precision in the application of register holograms or metallic foil. It can control up to 6 lanes even with independent pitch among one another. Each lane can be also used as normal hot foil or for applications without hologram, but at pace with print. Winner of Flexotech Print & Innovation International Awards 2005, it is extremely competitive when compared to similar products. As a matter of facts the foil feed is programmed basing on the length of the image to be printed and not on the pitch between both images. This means that the system allows a remarkable reduction in the cost of the raw material. The application is possible on various types of substrates and allows supplying an added value to the products (labels, boxes, etc...) transferring specific holograms that act as a valid anti-counterfeiting element.
Revolutionary system to automatically keep and monitor the print register.
This innovative system, which is the outcome of OMET's constant research, allows achieving a remarkable production efficiency. The unit gets the press automatically into register and at the same time allows controlling and adjusting both axes (longitudinal and transverse) without any intervention by the operator. Its extremely easy working foresees print on material having references with a different circumference, whereas their position (both linear and longitudinal) is digitally acquired by a camera. All the information about register deviation are subsequently elaborated by the main control system, which immediately repositions the axes through a dedicated software, getting the printed subject into perfect register. Thus the AVS® system allows dramatically reducing setup times and waste during start up as well as optimising productivity.

Die-cutting unit with a single magnetic cylinder for all label sizes, thereby eliminating the need for the converter to hold a range of different and expensive tooling. The process is simple and effective: the MonoTwin-Cut rotates at constant speed during the cutting phase, which, thanks to its servo drive, makes it possible to accelerate and decelerate in perfect synchrony with the machine speed for the subsequent cutting process. Especially designed for the label market, Omet's new die cutting unit is already available for the X-Flex series. Its register precision and production speed make the MonoTwin-Cut ideal for all types of label and any length of print run, offering numerous benefits to the converter. Potential production problems associated with late deliveries of tooling and changeable tool quality are eliminated at the outset. The unit is simple and intuitive to use, requires no lifting tackle for heavy cylinders, and completes a changeover by simply replacing the cutting sheet. Operational control of the unit, web tension, and waste extraction is all carried out via the main operator control board, while pre-register and register control is fully automatic.

Lamination unit to couple films.
Omet proposes an inline unit for plastic film solvent coupling combined with flexo print or roto print. The inline process avoids two kinds of working and allows coupling rolls in less time dramatically reducing downtimes if compared to offline working. More subsequent advantages are a lower printed web (or adhesive) waste, lower necessary spaces for the entire process (layout), lower energy costs (less users) and lower cost of labour force. VISION-2
This new method first of all removes the need for pre-register, so the printing plates can be assembled without concern for zero reference on the sleeve, i.e. every plate can be assembled in an approximate position.
The intelligent head scans each unit reading the reference marks. At this point it sends data to the motion coordinator that quickly makes the necessary longitudinal and transversal corrections in one/two plate revolutions. After these corrections, the colour will be in perfect register. This is when the intelligent reading head works as a real register control by sending data about any error on each plate round for appropriate adjustment.
